Orphan sites and salvaged equipment may be purchased by qualified businesses. Regulations do not allow the OWA to enter into commercial arrangements on orphan sites for either subsurface uses (such as carbon capture and storage or water wells), or surface uses (such as quarrying gravel or constructing new infrastructure). 

Taking an Orphan License

Companies can request to have orphan assets transferred by the AER to another operator.

Equipment Sales

Salvaged equipment can be purchased through our third-party agent, Armouree, although the OWA periodically sells some items, such as tubing and rods, directly.

Tubing and Rods Sales

Tubing and rods are occasionally marketed directly by the OWA. Any current sales are listed here.
